Your party etiquitte obviously will depend upon the form of party – lets begin with a formal party.
First off bring a bottle of wine, this is often a welcomed gesture towards the host and it ensures there’s going to be a drink you will enjoy! Dress respectively – there’s nothing worse than your own guests showing you up with an outrageous outfit! Don’t forget there may be people there you need to impress such as at a work party, therefore you need to be aware of your actions and alcoholic intake (!) as party etiquitte is vital. When considering party etiquitte for a less formal occasion, remembering basic manners is the way to go! This means remembering you’re at someone else’s house or venue, so respect their property – this includes being sick, if you’re going to do it aim for the toilet! Tidy up after yourself as best you can, such as by throwing away used glasses and cans if it’s possible. If the venue is someone’s house respect the neighbours, we’ve all experienced a night during which we have been held awake by neighbours partying perhaps a little too hard! And lets not forget how you behave that night has the possibility of being discussed the morning after – you have been warned!

Lets face it, no one has had the night of their life when they’re just not in the mood for it. Therefore it’s vital to set the mood yourself! Planning and making arrangements is half the fun, it may not have to be every detail but a vague chain of events may really help to create the right mood for a great night out! Perhaps try something different or edgy, such as a cabaret evening or a trip to the theatre, who knows you might even end up enjoying yourself! Once you’re out it’s key to enjoy yourself, do not fear what others may think (or see for that matter!), you’re out to enjoy yourself. Get to know new people, you obviously share a similar interest with the others around you which can be a great talking point when meeting new people, and who knows what it could lead to! However don’t forget those who you came with, after all they’ll be the ones who you’ll be remembering the night with, the morning after! If memory proves to be a problem, take a camera out with you! This will help capture the evening, and create the possibility of embarrassing and funny moments being caught on camera, priceless!

There are a bunch of drinks out there to offer your guests, so it’s bets to find out their favourites! A popular party drink is punch, this allows you to make it as creative as you wish and to produce vast amounts without producing piles of cans and glasses for your guests to trip over! This style also provides you will a presentable centrepiece for your buffet or bar, and saves you plenty of space! However don’t limit your guest to their choice of drink, and take care to provide and cater for your guests who may not be drinking alcohol. There are many options for such guests, make up fruity mocktails or a punch or at a more subtle party offer fruit juices. If you’re wishing to add some class and sophistication to the occasion offer vintage wines or go all out and bring out the bubbly! Fear not, the market also provides classy non-alcoholic drinks found in most large supermarkets and off licenses. Save yourself on washing up and bulk buy party cups, this will help the clean-up process which is often a little painful the morning after. Finally always offer your guests the option or availability of water, there’s nothing like a cold glass of water after a good party!

Whether you’re a fresher student or a parent of a fresher student, everyone needs to experience party nightlife. This could range from a fancy dress party in a hip club to a sophisticated evening in the city’s most upper class of bars. Wherever you find yourself it’s all about the atmosphere. Without good music to set the tone and people to enjoy yourself with, the experience just wouldn’t be the same – so in that sense party nightlife really is all about people and music. However, to fully enjoy yourself in the party nightlife the mood needs to be set before you leave the house. Getting ready with your friends, whilst having the odd drink and quick dance to some classic party songs are just some of the ways to guarantee yourselves a good night. This could continue after the party nightlife scene has died down for the evening – as long as the neighbours are in agreement there’s nothing wrong with taking the party back home with you! Keep the party going on in the night to complete the ultimate party nightlife experience! Some of us often have the go to work the morning after, so not all this may be possible, however so long as you finish the night on a high, there’s no loss!
