It’s all about first impressions – send out an invite to wow your guests and give them a little taster of what’s to come! With a disco party it’s all about dressing to impress! Whether it be a classic 70’s disco outfit or the latest sequins dress, disco clothing never dies! Don’t forget comfortable shoes, disco parties are all about dancing it’s never fun having to sit out whilst your feet recover. If the music is good but no quite your thing place a song request! Hereby you’ll get your chosen song played and be able to watch many enjoy your selection! Make the most of the music, it’s not every day you’ll get away with such moves! Don’t forget to enjoy and absorb the atmosphere, it’s not everyday the disco ball makes an appearance! Dancing may get tiring so a break to play some disco party games is always welcome. Games with a 70’s theme such as 70’s charades never goes a miss, particularly when songs are chosen! Your guests may require light refreshments too, so give them what they want! Go all out with disco party decorations from sparkly table cloths to disco themed plates, with those accessories your cooking skills may bypass!
So you’re hosting your first disco party, but where to start?! There’s plenty to sort out from invitation to music! First off you need to create a list of guests and send them all disco party invitations – remember you’ll be creating a first impression for your party through the invitations you send out, so make sure it’s the right one! Next you need to create a party which will meet these expectations so begin with turning the venue into a disco bonanza with old school 70’s disco decorations. Be sure not to forget the vital disco ball! Take time aside to consider how to entertain your guests, be it solely through music or with a mixture of music and games. Book a DJ who specialises in disco or if funds are low create a play list – be sure to take suggestions from others! Prepare games which focus especially on the theme of a disco party, for example a disco dancing competition. Supply some light snacks and drinks to ensure your disco dancers can keep up their tempo! And finally dress to impress, after all you are the host and all eyes will be on you and you’ve set the bar with your party, you just need to match it!
